Sewall’s Celebrated Its 75th Birthday

On Thursday, June 6th, Sewall celebrated its 75th birthday. Sewall was deeded the property at 1360 Vine Street from Dr. Cuthbert Powell on June 7th, 1944. Dr. Powell received the property as a bequest from Dr. Henry Sewall’s estate in 1943. Sewall’s started out in 1944 by helping people with disabilities, and our mission has evolved to an inclusion focus, where we currently serve children of ALL abilities.

The Koelbel Family Challenge Match

Sewall is extremely grateful for the Koelbel family. They kicked off our We Are ALL Better Together campaign with the May 3rd announcement of their extremely generous $250,000 matching gift!

As of today, $189,544 has been raised toward the $250,000 match! That leaves a little over $60,000 left to achieve the match and raise a total of $500,000 for the children and families Sewall serves! Click here to give now and have your gift matched today!

MISSION MOMENT

Sewall Graduation

Auden Auden is a recent graduate of the Hedgehog class, where he loved talking up a storm to his friends and teachers. Auden has a visual impairment and his family chose Sewall because Auden’s father also came to Sewall as a preschooler. Auden’s grandmother remembered the care and love that her son received as a little boy receiving speech language support and wanted the same for her grandson. Today, Auden walks around chatting with his friends and climbing on the playground, while also receiving support for his vision and other learning needs alongside his classroom buddies. Sewall is proud that Auden is now the second generation to receive support and early education in our inclusive community. Auden graduated with his fellow classmates in the Hedgehog classroom on Friday, May 31.
