Emergency Food Relief Program
Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have led to widespread impacts on Denver’s food security. Emergency food providers and pantries have seen anywhere from double to ten times the demand of families accessing their services. The pandemic has exacerbated the demand for Sewall’s food, program too. Thanks to an emergency $50,000 grant from the “Denver Emergency Food Relief Fund,” Sewall has been able to:
• Assist 200 families by providing food boxes
• Establish “multicultural food pantries” at three Sewall sites
• Provide sanitary and other supplies for food distribution including two refrigerators
• Assist with Sewall’s staff salaries for nutrition and food support
Sewall is extremely grateful for the “Denver’s Emergency Food Relief Program” and our partnership with the Denver Public Health & Environment (DDPHE).
Holiday Drive
On December 12, 2020, Sewall held the 6th annual Holiday Drive for children ages 3-9 and their families. While following social distancing and the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment’s pandemic guidelines, many wonderful donors and volunteers came together and gave 110 children the joy of opening a brand-new toy over the holidays. There was also a supply of gently used clothes, books, and toys available for kids and families, and a gift-wrapping station. Volunteers also delivered gift bags to families that were not able to get out in the snowy and cold weather. Sewall at the Dahlia Campus for Health and Well Being also is in the midst of a Holiday drive for families near that location.

Denver Broncos My Cause My Cleats
Denver Broncos and Sewall’s We Are All Better Together Campaign Ambassador, DaeSean Hamilton, represented Sewall as part of the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats Initiative. At the game on Sunday, December 7, vs. the Chiefs, DaeSean wore his cleats to showcase his causes.

Thank you for making the Beacon Celebration and Colorado Gives Day a Success!
The 19th Annual (Virtual) Beacon Celebration was a resounding success thanks to the 317 supporters who joined the virtual event via Facebook Live on November 19. Reggie Rivers was funny and entertaining, and Dr. Temple Grandin’s keynote proved to be authentic and insightful. Together we raised $113,426 for our mission of inclusive early childhood education.
On Tuesday, December 8, 75 donors helped raise $20,992 for Colorado Gives Day. We are amazed by and so grateful for the generosity of our community of supporters.
During this difficult time, your support means so much. Everyone is facing challenges and uncertainty. Your support is helping to make life a lot brighter for your neighbors and their children who are served by Sewall. Thank you for making this possible
