At Sewall Child Development Center, we know, from our experience since 1944, that our inclusive learning environments and qualified teachers have the power to change lives, enrich families, and make invaluable contributions to society.
Although research overwhelmingly emphasizes the importance of providing high-quality preschool education, too often resources are not available to adequately fund early childhood programs. Educating preschoolers is every bit as complicated and important as educating any of the K-12 grades, and teachers and their relationships with young children and their families are the heart of any successful program. However, preschool educators are facing a national crisis. Salaries lag drastically behind the salaries of traditional elementary school teachers, among other issues impacting the ability to attract and retain well prepared teachers.
